Yule & Yule were delighted to be awarded the contract to undertake an upgrade to the West Access Road for a client’s premises in the North East of England in August 2019. This 20 week construction project required Yule & Yule to saw cut and remove over 1500 tonnes of concrete, excavate and lay new hydrant and sprinkler pipes, communication ducts and back fill and re surface the 180 metre long road with new concrete. Works were programmed and managed internally and the job successfully completed on time, with budgets maintained and project programme adhered to whilst maintaining the highest of safety and quality standards. We are delighted that the client awarded Yule & Yule their next large scale infrastructure project on the back of this success. The scheme had challenges working around live services including HV cables and the Yule & Yule team had to be innovative: using vacuum excavating techniques to eliminate potential risks on site.
‘the west road project has gone better than I could have expected. Despite the wet weather, we finished slightly ahead of programme, we managed to open the road for the senior management visit, we managed to stay within budget, but most importantly there were no health & safety incidents on what was a potentially dangerous scheme working around the live services’
